International Graduate Category
This category allows international students, who have graduated from a recognized Newfoundland and Labrador post-secondary educational institution, to be considered for nomination for permanent residence in Canada.
Applicants must be international graduates who have established strong ties to Newfoundland and Labrador and intend to live, work, and establish themselves in this province.
The International Graduate must have full-time job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer in his/her field of study or in an area that is related to the field of study. OR have a proven attachment to the local labour market for a period of at least six months with a reasonable expectation for future employment.
Eligibility
To be considered for the NLPNP International Graduate Category, you must:
Have graduated, within the last two (2) years, from a program of at least two (2) academic years of full-time study in Newfoundland and Labrador and have received a certificate, diploma, or degree from a recognized Newfoundland and Labrador post-secondary institution;
Have a full-time job offer in your field of study, or a related field of study, from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer OR have a proven attachment to the local labour market over at least a six-month period with a reasonable expectation for future employment;
Have obtained a Citizenship and Immigration Canada post-graduation work permit;
Have the qualifications, training, skills, and accreditation required for the job;
Can demonstrate the intention and ability to settle permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador;
Have a job or job offer for a position which corresponds to your education and specific skill levels;
Have a job or job offer that has compensation in the form of a salary and benefits package that meets provincial employment standards and prevailing wage rates;
Have a job or job offer that has opportunity for advancement;
Have a job or job offer that does not contravene existing bargaining unit agreements or any employment disputes;
Can demonstrate that you have sufficient settlement funds and financial resources to successfully establish yourself and any dependents in Newfoundland and Labrador;
Can demonstrate sufficient English or French language capability to perform the employment duties. Your English language ability must be verified by one of the following:
(a) An Affidavit of English Language Ability from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer who has offered you a full-time job; OR
(b) education and/or training documents.
Family Connections Category
This category is for immigrant families living in Newfoundland and Labrador who want to help their overseas family members relocate and work in the province.
Applicants must have a family member who has been living in Newfoundland and Labrador for at least one year. The family member must be willing to provide applicants with assistance during the immigration process and after they arrive in the province. The family member will be the "Sponsor".

Dependent children, spouses, common-law partners, parents and grandparents are not eligible to apply under this category. They need to apply under the Citizenship and Immigration (CIC) Family Class.
Eligibility
To be considered for the NLPNP Family Connections Category, you must:
Be between 18 - 49 years old;
Have a signed Affidavit of Support from one or more family members in Newfoundland and Labrador;
Have a family member (Sponsor) willing to provide settlement assistance;
Have completed post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship of at least one year in length that has resulted in a diploma, a certificate or a degree;
Have at least one year of related work experience;
Have adequate English language ability either to do the job you have been offered by a Newfoundland and Labrador employer, or to get a job in your field of education or training;
Your English language ability must be verified by one of the following:
an Affidavit of English Language Ability from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer who has offered you a permanent job
education/training documents
language testing results OR
you may be required to attend ESL (English as a Second Language) courses prior to or following your arrival to Newfoundland and Labrador and provide documentation that confirms you have reached a required language level.
Have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador Employer; OR Intend to find full-time, permanent work in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Have enough money to live in the province for a short time without work after arrival ($10,000 for you and $2,000 for each accompanying family member). The funds can be from you, your spouse, your Sponsor, or a combination of these sources.
Have the intention to reside in Newfoundland and Labrador.
